Are you asking which processor is the best between BIONZ, EXPEED, DIGIC and the rest? It's very hard to say because the overall performance of the system also depends on the quality and design of the sensor, the size and speed of the camera's buffer and the individual processor. Canon's DIGIC system refers to the processor design rather than a single unit, so the DIGIC processor in a PowerShot compact will be very different to that in a 1Ds Mk III.

Thanks for your comment, Colin. Camera manufacturers sometimes quote a brief overview of the test conditions in their camera documentation, but I have tracked down the following PDF which appears to be the official specification for the CIPA standard. It's a bit wordy, as they usually are, but you might find it useful:

http://www.cipa.jp/english/hyoujunka/kikaku/pdf/DC-002_e.pdf

You might find more general information elsewhere on the CIPA site:

The CIPA standard battery testing is mentioned a couple of times on this site. But there are no details of the parameters of the test so it is not possible to apply it to a suspect battery. Were the details available a user could reproduce the test and make an informed decision about a particular battery, when new, after period of use, and towards end of life. A useful test if one knew how to do it ! Please consider, and if you agree please let me know when you are about to add it to the excellent site

I think the Bluetooth feature would be a good one when transferring pictures to my cell phone, mp3 player and printer that support Bluetooth.

Thanks, Sergio. Yes, the minimum ISO in the expanded dynamic range mode is increased to ISO 200, but I didn't want to get bogged down in too much detail in the explanation,

My wording must have been ambiguous for the lens correction explanation. I meant the K-7 could correct any lens distortion in the lens being used, not distortion with any lens. Further down, I do point out that this feature is confined to DA, DA L and D FA lenses.

You did not mention when the highlight extended dynamic range is activated, your minimum ISO is now 200.

"The body can correct any lens distortion ..."

According to the manual, only DA, DA L and D FA lenses will will get distortion correction. Not all of the lenses you can put on a K-7 will.

Thanks, Martin, you're right. Adobe seem to have dropped it from CS3 and Elements 5 onwards as people switched from CRTs, which it seems to have been designed for, to LCDs. There are alternatives, such as Quick Gamma 3 (http://quickgamma.de/version3en.html), but the best route now for PC users is probably a proper hardware calibrator.
